  5.     This DEMO of WEAVE For Windows is released to the public and may be
  6.     distributed and copied freely.

  8.                        WEAVE for Windows (version 1.1)
  9.  
  10.     WEAVE for Windows 1.1 is now available! WEAVE for Windows is a
  11.     weavers drawdown program for the Microsoft Windows operating system.
  12.     It operates with a mouse and allows the user to design drafts and
  13.     quickly see the results of threading, treadling, tieup, and color
  14.     changes.

  16.             WEAVE for Windows 1.1 has the following capabilities;

  18.     - Threading repeats and threading color repeats up to 1024 long
  19.  
  20.     - Treadling repeats and treadling color repeats up to 768 long
  21.  
  22.     - Choice of 4, 8, 10, 12, and 16 shafts
  23.  
  24.     - Ten levels of magnification
  25.  
  26.     - A very large selection of colors
  27.  
  28.     - "Show Reverse Side" viewing option
  29.  
  30.     - Drawdown printouts with or without the draft (via printer
  31.       installed through Windows)
  32.  
  33.     - A handy 'Project Planner' that will estimate materials and costs
  34.       for a project.

  36.     - WEAVE for Windows can take advantage of Microsoft Windows ability
  37.       to "cut & paste" from one application to another. For example,
  38.       paste copies of your drawdown directly into your word processor.

  40.     WEAVE for Windows 1.1 requires Microsoft's Windows 3.X (in Enhanced
  41.     mode) to operate.  A VGA display is recommended and the 800 X 600
  42.     resolution seems to provide the best results (WEAVE has NOT been
  43.     tested on non-VGA displays).  A 24 pin printer (or better
  44.     resolution) is also strongly recommended.

  46.     Purchasers of WEAVE for Windows are eligible for free upgrades for a
  47.     one year period following purchase.

  49.     A DEMO (with some functions disabled) of WEAVE for Windows 1.1 is
  50.     available on Compuserve in the Weaving forum (GO CRAFTS).

  52.     Place your order by filling out the order form (order.txt) and
  53.     mailing the form and your money order to ShuttleWorks.

  56.                       DEMO Installation Instructions
  57.  
  58.     "wv_demo.exe" is a self extracting file. Copy "wv_demo.exe" to any
  59.      desired sub-directory on your hard drive. Run "wv_demo.exe" and it
  60.      will automatically de-compress all the required files. Next, run
  61.      Microsoft Windows and install WEAVE For Windows (demo11.exe) via
  62.      the 'File - New' command. Now you should be able to find the
  63.      'WEAVE' icon in the Windows group you installed it into. Simply
  64.      double click on the icon to start the DEMO.  (NOTE: Some features
  65.      have been disabled in the DEMO)

  69.     This is a quick, abbreviated list of the commands and functions of
  70.     WEAVE For Windows. The on-line help provides detailed information on
  71.     the operation of WEAVE For Windows 1.1. Full documentation is
  72.     included with purchase.

  75.       Load Pattern - Loads existing patterns from selected drive
  76.       Save Pattern As - Names and Saves pattern to selected drive
  77.       Save Pattern - Re-saves previously saved pattern
  78.       Delete Pattern - Deletes pattern from selected drive
  79.       Exit - Quits the program

  81.     Edit:
  82.       Edit Draft:
  83.           Edit Threading - Allows user to edit the threading
  84.           Edit Treadling - Allows user to edit the treadling
  85.           Edit Tieup - Allows user to edit the tieup
  86.       Colors - Allows user to change warp, weft, and thread palette

  88.       Magnification - Allows user to change the magnification.
  89.                       (magnification 6 matches the draft exactly)
  90.       # of Shafts - Allows the user to change the number of shafts

  92.     Options:
  93.       Show Draft - Allows user to select whether or not to include the
  94.                    draft in the drawdown. (A checkmark means WEAVE will
  95.                    show the draft)
  96.       Autoweave - Allows the user to select whether or not WEAVE will
  97.                   automatically produce a new drawdown after any change.
  98.                   (A checkmark means Autoweave is on.)
  99.       Weave - tells WEAVE to produce a drawdown
  100.       Show Reverse Side - tells WEAVE to produce a drawdown showing the
  101.                           reverse side of the drawdown
  102.       Start New:
  103.           Clear All - Clears the threading, treadling, tieup and notes
  104.           Clear All But Tieup - Clears the threading, treadling and
  105.                                 notes
  106.       Note - Allows the user to input any desired notes
  107.       Copy Screen To Clipboard - Copies the draft (screen) to the
  108.                                  Windows clipboard.*
  109.       Print:
  110.           Print Draft - Prints the draft (useful for long drafts)
  111.           Print Screen - Prints the drawdown on the printer
  112.       Project Planner - Takes user to the 'Project Planner' sub-program
  113.                         In the Project Planner, click on any entry to
  114.                         change.  Click 'DONE' when complete. A "results"
  115.                         window will open to display the Estimated
  116.                         Project Costs.
  117.           Go Back - returns to the Project Planner screen to allow more
  118.                     changes
  119.           Print - Asks further info on materials, etc., and then prints
  120.                   a full report, including cost information, warp and
  121.                   weft information, and a log to record weaving time,
  122.                   actual shrinkage, etc.,
  123.           Quit - Returns to WEAVE for Windows.

  126.       Help on Help - Opens the Windows 'how to use Help' on-line

  131.     *After copying the drawdown to the Windows clipboard, you may now
  132.     exit (or minimized) WEAVE For Windows and paste it wherever you
  133.     want. For example, you could go to the Paintbrush application and
  134.     "paste" in your drawdown, edit or change it, then "paste" your
  135.     edited version into your Windows word processor for use in a
  136.     Newsletter!
